Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to pre -register for my class?
A: All classes will have a class limit of 25 artists. If you want to reserve your spot in a specific class, registering is highly recommended. You are welcome to walk in and pay the night of the class, but the class may be full and you may not be able to participate.
Q: Am I registered for a class if I press the "Going" button on FB?
A: No. Pressing the "Going" button only shows FB friends that you are planning to attend. You are not on a roster unless you pre-register and pay on-line or send an email ([email protected]) or IM to let a Brush and a Beverage know that you will be attending the class, but paying when you get there.
Q: Can I pay the night of the class?
A: If you do not want to pay on-line, but would like to pay the night of the class, you will still need to send an email to [email protected] and let me know that you will be participating in the class. This helps me prepare for the class and put you on the roster.
Q: Are guys allowed in the classes?
A: Yes, yes and of course...Yes.
A: Cocoa and Canvas classes include an 11x14 canvas, larger sizes are available for a $5 charge. Coffee and Canvas includes a 12x16 canvas and artists are welcome to downsize to an 11x14 canvas, but will not receive a discount. Cork and Canvas classes include a 16x20 canvas with the option to downsize. Occasionally, classes will use a different shape or sized canvas or a different material (wood or slate). This change will be clearly specified in the class description.
Q: Can I bring my own wine?
A: Unfortunately, no alcoholic beverages can be brought onto the premises. We have a full liquor license and this prevents us from allowing anyone to BYOB. We have a selection of wine, beer and liquors to add to your coffee for purchase.
Q: Can I come to the class if I am not painting?
A: Class prices will reserve you a canvas and a seat. You are welcome to bring a friend that is interested in seeing what we are all about. They will be able to purchase and enjoy drinks and snacks and enjoy the atmosphere, while you are painting, but will not be promised a seat at the painting tables. We do have a couch and comfy chairs for your guest to lounge on, as well as magazines to read, while you paint.
Q: What should I wear?
A: a Brush and a Beverage is a very casual atmosphere. If you are coming from dinner, going out after, or just making this your night out… please feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable for painting in. Paint shirts will be available to protect your clothes to the best of our ability, but there are always accidents when you paint and we can not promise a paint free outfit.
Q: How do I cancel my class?A: A full refund can occur if you cancel at least 48 hours before the class starts. You also have the option to put the reservation on hold for a later date. The reservation can be put on hold to be used for another class if the cancellation is received at least 24 hours before the class starts. Loss of payment will occur for "no shows" or a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice.
Q: Is there an age limit for classes?A: Yes. Cork and Canvas classes and Open Studio are for artists that are 16 and over, 21 and over may purchase alcohol with a valid i.d. Cocoa and Coffee classes are for any artist ages 5 and up.
